This year I decided to hand make all of my Christmas gifts for family and friends. An ambitious task some might think and yes it does involve a lot more than a credit card and a battle in the shopping center car park. It involves time and creativity and the confidence to actually share your ideas with others and believing that they too will see their value and enjoy them. This was perhaps the most difficult part, as I personally love handmade goods and would be more than delighted with some re-purposed accessories, clothes or some sugar & cinnamon or spicy paprika nuts, I wasn't totally sure that others would appreciate these types of gifts as much as me. So, I did it anyway and guess what...they loved them! I made a range of jewellery and deli style treats and I am pleased (and relieved) to say they were a hit. It takes time and a lot of effort but I think it is most definitely worth it for those special people in your life.

A brand new Christmas
After last year's floods we have started again with our Christmas with a new tree, new decorations and a new a hopeful spirit for a joyous 2012. So we celebrated the end of a tough year but the beginning of what will no doubt be a wonderful one, with some beautiful weather, special gifts and sensational food with the most wonderful family in the world (unfortunately minus awesome brother).
I wish everyone a very happy holiday and a joyous new year filled with love, laughter and hope.
